Recently we were having problems with a site that was showing for some users and not others. A good starting point is to check the DNS configuration to do this we used this tool from Pingdom. Another useful tool to check the domain configuration is MXtoolbox, which can help identity the whois, nameservers, a records, mx records,etc.
